On My Own Time is an Arts and Crafts program which is co-sponsored by participating companies and NCAC. It has proven to be an outstanding way for businesses to recognize and encourage employees' creativity. When employees engage in the arts, they are more likely to be committed to the community and to their employers. Creative competition within the workplace generally enlivens everyone's spirit and raises morale, giving all who participate a sense of pride and achievement.
On My Own Time not only rewards individual talents, it provides recognition that the sponsoring companies are supportive of the arts in our community. North Country Arts Center is proud of this program and its unique roll as an incubator for artists in our area. It has long been acknowledged that the artistic community is frequently the leader in motivating innovative and positive change and it gives great satisfaction to be encouraging that kind of growth.
We are extremely grateful to our local businesses that have provided continued support for the On My Own Time program since its inception in 1978; without them the program would not be possible.
